Panelists included:

Bill Finnie is the Managing Director of the Business Consulting Group of Grace Advisors. He has a Ph. D. and is also the adjunct professor of marketing at Washington University. He has 26 years of corporate experience with Anheuser-Busch.

John Huhn is the Managing Principal with Right Management Consultants. Prior to joining Right Management, John was President and CEO of the Rainforest Co. He was selected as on of St. Louis' "Top 40 under 40" business professionals by the St. Louis Business Journal.

Alan Hauge is the Group Chairman with TEC International. He is also the Vice President - Event Research and Development for the Civic Entrepreneurs Organization, a non-profit organization of St. Louis area business leaders.

Nancy J. Lorenz-Murnin is Vice President and General Manager of the Lee Hecht Harrison St. Louis office. She provides consulting and coaching for senior executive clients.

Panelists included:

Diane Frain is an HR Consultant and Owner at Human Resources Connection. She specializes in contract HR consulting projects for small to mid size businesses. Diane holds a B.S. in Education and HR certification from UMSL.

Tish Atchison is a Client Executive at EDS, which is the world's largest outsourcing services company. She was instrumental in helping EDS win a large outsourcing contract with Sabre, which consisted of a $7B corporate acquisition and a $2.2 B IT Outsourcing agreement.

Marilyn Benson a Managing Consultant at DBM, which is the world's leading provider of strategic human resources solutions. She is active in the American Society for Training and Development, St. Louis Human Resources Management Association, and the Missouri Venture Forum.

Attracting and Retaining Talent in the St. Louis Workforce

St. Louis' rich history, relatively low cost of living, and emerging neighborhoods have positioned the region for continued growth in the 21st Century.  Despite these attractive qualities, the region still faces obstacles which may make other Midwestern cities like Kansas City or Minneapolis more attractive for talented professionals to establish roots.

Debbie Frederick, who serves as Vice President of Workforce and Economic Development for the St. Louis Regional Commerce & Growth Association (RCGA), led the discussion of the RCGA's efforts to improve St. Louis' positioning in the Midwest for attracting and retaining talent in the 21st Century.

Internet Marketing

PRESENTER: Heading up Drone and Mueller and Associates, President and CEO Mike Drone has over 30 years experience in the B2B and marketing industries. Drone's experience on the client side includes Lincoln St. Louis and Guth Lighting, where he served as Director of Advertising and Sales Promotion, and later as National Sales Manager, before opening Drone & Mueller in 1984. In addition, Drone taught Marketing and Business Organization and Management for eight years for various St. Louis colleges and universities, and he continues to sit on three advisory boards for colleges and universities throughout St. Louis. He served as President of the Business Marketing Association, and was named "Marketer of the Year" by the American Marketing Association.  Mike Drone has given speeches on all aspects of marketing, including advertising, Internet, e-marketing effectiveness, marketing warfare, and industry trends. 

 May 17, 2006 International Business - China's Growth and Regional Impacts

Presented by Dr. Hongxin (John) Zhao. Dr. Hongxin John Zhao of St. Louis University was recently was recognized by Michigan State University Research Productivity Project as one of 89 most proliferate researchers in international business research.  He has been interviewed by the St. Louis Post Dispatch, Asian Business News in Asia, and televised on Channel 5.  

Dr. Zhao obtained his Ph. D. from George Washington University. He has taught courses in Asian Business, Global Strategy and International Business Negotiations and provided consulting services to Boeing Corporation and executive seminar at Emerson Motor.  Dr. Zhao's research expertise is in foreign direct investment and international business strategy.

Keith Womer serves as Dean of the College of Business Administration and Professor of Logistics and Operations Management at the University of Missouri – St Louis. Dr. Womer has also served as a visiting faculty member at China Textile University and at the University of Torino.
