Attracting and Retaining Talent in the St.
Louis Workforce
St. Louis' rich history, relatively
low cost of living, and emerging neighborhoods have positioned the
region for continued growth in the 21st Century. Despite these
attractive qualities, the region still faces obstacles which may make
other Midwestern cities like Kansas City or Minneapolis more
attractive for talented professionals to establish roots.
Debbie Frederick, who serves as Vice
President of Workforce and Economic Development for the St. Louis
Regional Commerce & Growth Association (RCGA), led the discussion of the RCGA's
efforts to improve St. Louis' positioning in the Midwest for
attracting and retaining talent in the 21st Century.

comes to business environment? Do these communicative differences
affect our professional images? How much do they play into our
careers, if any at all?
